Newtown Savings Bank (NSB) hosted a pair of Toys For Tots collection events last week, in addition to maintaining collection bins for the organization dedicated to collecting new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages each holiday season. The bins are still open for donations.

A Drive & Drop collection was held at all 14 branch locations during the afternoon of Friday, December 4 and the morning of Saturday, December 5.

There was also a “Stuff the Van” event on Friday afternoon at the bank’s Plaza South Branch.

Ahead of the special events, NSB Vice President and Public Relations Director Tanya Wulff Truaxx said via press release that the need for new toys “is greater than ever, and we want to be sure to provide our community with a safe way to donate toys without getting out of their cars.”

Shortly before 4 pm last Friday, toward the closing minutes of the Stuff A Van event, three NSB employees were cold but very pleased with the response from the public.

Vice President of Marketing Marc Massimino, Senior Marketing Specialist Katie Korres, and Commercial Post Closer Gianna DeAngelis were bundled up against the afternoon’s very cold temperatures. Although they were chilly, they were also pleased to point to a three-foot tall Toys For Tots box that was nearly overflowing.

Local residents have until December 15 to donate to this year’s toy drive.

In addition to all Newtown Savings Bank branches, the following Newtown locations are hosting Toys For Tots collection bins, all available during regular business hours:
