Longtime Newtown resident, notable garden writer, and poet Sydney Eddison will be at Queen Street Gifts for an author event this week.

Ms Eddison will be at the gift store, 3 Queen Street, on Friday, December 21, from 1 to 3 pm.

Copies of her latest title, All The Luck: Poems Celebrating Love, Life, and The Enduring Human Spirit,  will be available for purchase. Released in February, the 80 works in the collection stem from a wide array of inspiration, she told The Newtown Bee in April. Much of the collection was inspired by her hometown. 

Ms Eddison has lived in a historic farmhouse in northern Newtown for more than 55 years, on a 2½-acre piece of property that borders Upper Paugussett State Forest.

She has been writing about gardens and gardening since the 1980s.  She has been honored by National Garden Club, Inc, The Connecticut Horticultural Society, Newtown England Wild Flower Society, and The Federated Garden Club of Connecticut, among many other organizations.
