‘Field Trip Fund’

 Aids Families In Need

The Newtown Junior Women’s Club (NJWC) is establishing a “Field Trip Fund” to help families who may be experiencing financial hardship. Field trips are an integral part of the educational experience, enriching and augmenting classroom learning. The fund, made possible by NJWC’s first annual golf tournament last August, will be administered through Newtown Social Services. Anyone wishing to access these funds should contact Ann Piccini at 426-4330.

NJWC is dedicated to serving the community through its varied activities. Membership is open to all women 18 and older. Annual activities include the provision of backpacks for children in need (118 backpacks collected last September), the Discovery Science Workshops, and Tag-A-Gift during the December holidays.

Last August’s Golf Tournament also provided monies for Time for Life, Kevin’s Community Center, and the Skate Park.

NYWC will accept donations to the Field Trip Fund from individuals, businesses, and organizations. Anyone wishing to make a donation should make checks payable to NJWC, PO Box 217, Botsford CT 06404. Please include a note designating the monies for the Field Trip Fund. Women wishing to join NYWC should contact Theresa Eames at 364-1521. For more information on NJWC, visit www.njwc.freeservers.com.
