Lockwood Lodge At Ashlar Offering Life Line Service April 24
On Tuesday, April 24, Lockwood Lodge, the assisted living and memory care community at Ashlar of Newtown, will provide area residents with the opportunity to spend a few minutes doing something that could possibly reduce their risk for a stroke.
From 8 am to 5 pm, Life Line Screening representatives will be offering screenings to assess risk of stroke and vascular disease. These screenings include a carotid artery screening, abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, and an ankle brachial index (ABI).
A bone density screening is also being offered for both men and women to assess osteoporosis risk. The screenings, which use ultrasound technology, are fast, painless, and low cost.
Registered or registry-eligible ultrasound technologists will conduct the screenings. A board certified physician reviews the results of each test to ensure the accuracy of the results before they are mailed to the individual.
Participants who receive screening results that suggest further evaluation are encouraged to seek follow-up care with their physician.
To register for a screening, call 800-643-6075. Each screening requires ten minutes or less to complete, and costs $45. The package consisting of three vascular screenings is $109. Sign up for all four screenings and pay $129.
Lockwood Lodge at Ashlar of Newtown, an affiliate of Masonicare, is at 139 Toddy Hill. For directions, visit Masonicareâs website at www.masonicare.org or call 426-5847.
