Womenâs Center Benefit Breakfast Focusing On Bullying
BROOKFIELD â The Womenâs Centerâs fourth Annual Hearts of Hope Breakfast to be held Wednesday, February 8, from 7:30 to 9 am, at the Fox Hill Inn will feature local bullying prevention advocate Deborah Zegas Berman as this yearâs special guest speaker.
The Womenâs Center provides free and confidential services to prevent or lessen the trauma associated with domestic violence, sexual assault, and other major life transitions to thousands of women, children, and men annually. The programs of the Womenâs Center are supported by state and local government, area United Way agencies and the people and businesses in the communities served including Newtown.
Ms. Berman, a Ridgefield resident, will present âThe Irreversible Effects of Bullying.â Her program talk focuses on the personal toll bullying has taken on her family, Connecticutâs updated Bullying Prevention Legislation and her role in its creation and passage, and ways to affect real change.
