21: Canine Advocates of Newtown will hosts its Nothin’ But A Hound Dog Sock Hop on Saturday, April 21, 8 to 11:30 pm, at the Edmond Town Hall Gym. There will be music and dancing to the sounds of the 1950s and ‘60s, powered by Powerstation. There will be a dance contest and a silent auction as well as a special appearance by Elegant rock and Suzan  Hurtuk. Dress code is 1950s casual. 22... Lion Hill Farm at 1020 Sport Hill Road in Easton will begin its Schooling Show series on Sunday, April 22. Jumper division will begin at 8 am. The series is open to the public. 28-29: Celeste Meade will present an “Attitude Is Everything” seminar for the Obedience Dog Training Club of Waterbury on Saturday and Sunday, April 28 and 29. The training facility is at 11 Robinson Lane in Oxford. Pre-registration is required. Fee is $195 for participants and $100 for auditors and includes continental breakfast and lunch on both days. 20: The 4-H Spring Benefit Horse Show will be held Sunday, May 20, at the Cooperative Extension System grounds on Stony Hill Road in Bethel. The open schooling show will host divisions English Equitation, Hunt Seat, Western, and Trail. New this year is the Super Horse Division in the Western Ring and on the Hunt Course. Most classes will be pinned through sixth place with the first place winner also receiving a trophy. Divisions are awarded champion and reserve ribbons. Bit of Tack will also be awarding a special prize to all Division winners. The high point horse and rider combination from both the Spring Benefit and Fall Nutmeg shows will receive year end awards in several divisions.       Proof of a current rabies vaccination (within one year) will be checked at the gate for each animal.      Refreshments will be available on the grounds. 20: The Woodbury Litchfield Hill Foxhounds Spring Trail ride will be held Sunday, May 20, at Anderson Farm, 25 Anderson Road, Morris. The ride features panoramic views, rolling farmlands, woodlands, meadows and streams with fences of post and rails, coops, stonewalls, gates and logs approximately 2’6’’ with a go-around at every fence.
