Have Breakfast With The HSPTSA

To the Editor:

As a former president of the Newtown High School Parent Teacher Student Association (HSPTSA) I would like to encourage parents of high school and eighth grade students to attend the breakfast meeting on March 23 from 7:30 to 8:30 am at the high school.

The HSPTSA affords parents the opportunity to interact with administrators, teachers, guest speakers, and to network with other parents. Much research shows that children of high school age need and want their parents to be more involved in their school life.

Newtown High School is fortunate to have many active parent groups. It seems that each academic, athletic, or musical group benefits from parental involvement. What is so wonderful about the PTSA is that it represents all parents, teachers, and students. The HSPTSA advocates on behalf of all students’ needs and interests. If you have a question regarding curriculum, school policy, or would like to be current with what is going on in the high school this might just be the organization to suit your needs or address your questions.

Won’t you please join me in supporting the efforts of the Newtown High School Parent Teacher Student Association? Please call the NHS office and ask them to save a bagel or a Danish for you on the 23rd!
