Cherished Mother And Grandmother

Metta “Maxine” Celli, 90, formerly of Milford, died July 24, at Bethel Health Care. She was the devoted wife of Michael A. Celli, DC. Mrs Celli was born in Mangum, Okla., July 5, 1920, daughter of Sadie (Sanders) and Henry W. Logsdon.

She was the beloved mother of Sandra Morici of Newtown and Barbara Loggia. She also leaves four cherished grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs Celli lived in Elmont, Long Island, for 35 years before moving to Derby in 1991, and then to Milford eight years ago. She graduated from Cordell (Okla.) High School in 1938 and then attended Abilene Christian College in Texas. She met her husband when both worked for the Navy Department in Washington, D.C., during World War II, and together they shared 67 years of marriage. The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, Derby, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. There will be no public service. Online condolences may be offered at adzimafh.com.
