Touch ’Em All Wins It All

Touch ’Em All defeated Carminuccio’s to win the Men’s Sunday Slo-Pitch Softball League championship on September 12. Touch ’Em All had to win two games at Dickinson Park to claim the title and held off Carminuccio’s 14-11 to force a winner-take-all contest. Touch ’Em All scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to come back and win 11-9 in the pinnacle game.

In the 14-11 win, Larry Pignatello and Chris Anastasia were both 3-for-4 and scored twice. Charlie Coates, Mike Lancaster, Mike Douskey, and Mark Fracker all had multiple-hit games. Touch ’Em All led 11-0 and held on despite a valiant Carminucco’s comeback effort.

In the second game, with the game tied and two outs in the ninth, Andy walker hit his second home run of the game to lead Touch ’Em All to the win. Rich Rekos, Howie Ziperstein, Fracker, and walker each had three hits. Coates added a home run and drove in three runs in the win.

For Carminuccio’s, Dave Passano was 5-for-8, including two doubles and two triples, and Tim LaPak and Carl Abrahamson each hit home runs.
