JANE PETERSON OIL TAKES TOP BILLING AT POUND RIDGE ANTIQUES MARKET

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. — The best sale of the day during the July 4 Antiques & Farmers Market, along the sidewalks in Scotts Corners, was a Jane Peterson oil on canvas, for $1,850.

Other sales included a pair of iron bird sculptures at $125; a pair of marble based lamps, $95; a French lamp, $180; six ladder back chairs, $100; an iron bench, $200; and a pair of large wood clamps, $150.

Among the sales at Antiques & Tools of Business & Kitchen, the event sponsor, was a large jug at $50, a wire plant stand for $129, four lawn chairs at $65 and items to 15 newcomers to the shop.

The 11th annual Townwide Yard Sales on July 6–8, with five nonprofit organizations and 12 families participating, generated sales including a go-kart at $700, a set of Lucite chairs at $300, a wicker table and four chairs for $300, an armoire at $100, a pair of crystal oil lamps at $175, six US silver dollars for $77, and “tons of smalls.”

During the 2nd Sunday Antiques & Farmers Market at Antiques & Tools of Business & Kitchen on July 8, with 12 dealers set up outside, sales included a wooden display shelf at $60, a large jug at $49, a Tiger Woods signed letter for $30, a Hull planter $65 and five framed prints.

The next outdoor events will be August 12, September 9 and October 14 at Antiques & Tools’ 2nd Sunday Antiques & Farmers Market, 11 am to 4 pm; the Business Association’s Labor Day Market Monday, September 3; and Annual Arts & Crafts Festival Saturday and Sunday, October 13–14.
