BALTIMORE, MD. — The Walters Art Museum will present the 26th annual Theodore L. Low Lecture, “Of Animals and Men: Barye, Beasts and the Duke of Orleans,” on Sunday, March 18, at 2 pm.

Louvre sculpture curator Isabelle Leroy-Jay Lemaistre will examine and discuss Antoine-Louis Barye’s masterpiece, the duke of Orleans’s surtout de table (table centerpiece) — highlight of “Untamed: The Art of Antoine-Louis Barye” and the Walters’ Nineteenth Century sculpture collection.

Lemaistre is an art historian and the author of numerous books on French sculpture, from the Renaissance through the Romantic ear.

The program is free; preregistration is recommended. The museum is at 600 North Charles Street. For information, www.thewalters.org or 410-547-9000.
