Women’s Center Seeking Hotline Volunteers

DANBURY — The spring dual domestic violence and sexual assault hotline certification training schedule for prospective Women’s Center volunteers has been announced.

This 40-hour training certifies volunteers to perform crisis intervention at the center during business hours or from home when the center is closed. Evening training classes will begin Thursday, March 25, and will continue through early June.

Last year, the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury responded to more than 1,400 sexual assault and domestic violence hotline calls, in addition to providing emergency shelter, counseling services, advocacy services, community education and prevention programs, and information and referral services.

More than 19,000 clients in the greater Danbury area were served by the center’s programs in 2009.

Work to end the violence by calling Chrissy Deep at 203-731-5200, extension 202, for more information and to register for training.
