Space Available In Continuing Education Courses

Newtown Continuing Education announces limited space is still available in the following courses:

Tutankhamen and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs: For the first time in 25 years, the King Tut Exhibit visits the United States at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Have lunch on your own at the Reading Terminal Market and enjoy a tour of Philadelphia with a local guide featuring the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the National Constitution Center. Saturday, June 9, departs NHS at 6:30 am, returns 10:30 pm, fee is $88.

NYC Noshing and Markets Tour: Upon arrival in New York City, you will meet your local guide. From this point, you will embark on an in-depth learning experience of New York neighborhoods, their history and their culture — through food. Bring along coolers to rake food home to enjoy later. Saturday, May 19, departs NHS at 8 am, fee $59.

How to Move or Relocate Without Stress: If you are thinking of moving or have an upcoming relocation, you have lots on your plate. Bonnie Dewkett, owner of the Joyful Organizer, will discuss how to prepare your home and household goods to be moved as well as some of the common concerns relocating families have. Wednesday, May 9, NHS, 8–9 pm, fee $39.

Computers for Absolute Beginners: A fundamental course that takes you from how to use a mouse up to understanding how the web works. Tuesdays, two classes, starts May 15, NHS, 6:30 to 9:30 pm, fee $63. Taught by Dan Tannenbaum, Newtown Computers and Financial Services.

How to Keep Your Computer Running Smoothly: A course designed to help you keep your computer running like it just came out of the box! You will learn all about what is inside a computer and how everything works together. Choose from either date. Tuesdays, two classes, starting April 24 or two classes, starting June 5, NHS, 6:30 to 9:30 pm, fee $63. Taught by Dan Tannenbaum, Newtown Computers and Financial Services.

Tying It All Together…how your Microsoft programs work with each other: You’re comfortable with Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Now, how can they interact with one another? Thursday, May 31, NHS, 6:30 to 9:30 pm, fee $39. Taught by Michael Ingber, Upward Business Systems.

Backup Strategies for Your Computer: Do you back up your files? Are you in danger of losing all of your photos, music, and data? Come to Mike Ingber’s discussion to develop a good backup strategy. Monday, May 7, NHS, 7 to 9 pm, fee $29. Taught by Michael Ingber, Upward Business Systems.
