UConn Plans Autumn Fair
STORRS ââ UConnâs College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will hold Cornucopia Fest â03, a popular fall festival with both family fun and information, from 11 am to 4 pm on Sunday, October 5.
The event will take place on the grounds at Route 195 and North Eagleville Road.
There will be hayrides, the UConn dairy bar, free photos, games, and an auction. Visitors can meet and ask questions of faculty experts in such areas as natural resources, nutrition, plant and animal agriculture, plant and animal diseases, and resource economics.
New this year is a series of short, informal workshops on sustainable home landscaping, composting, septic system care, how GPS works, how a gene gun works, hot topics in nutrition, what to do if there is a bear or coyote in your yard, and raising chickens.
The event is free and open to the public. For directions, a complete list of exhibits, workshops, and auction items, and to sign up for the forest hike and the research tour, check the internet at www.canr.uconn.edu and click the link to the Cornucopia Fest.
