A Consensus On The Budget
A Consensus
On The Budget
To the Editor:
Our various town boards have reviewed the proposed town and school budget for the 2007â2008 fiscal year in great detail.
This budget allows for the town and school system to provide the services needed for the next fiscal year, while being sensitive to the needs of our taxpayers. Although we would all always prefer lower taxes, our boards believe that the appropriate balance between the needs of our town and the needs of the taxpayers have been met in the budget to be voted on in the upcoming referendum.
We believe it is important that the proposed budget pass on the first referendum. In doing so we will be able to provide the services needed by our town and school system. We will also be ensuring further positive consideration towards our townâs bond rating which would result in lower debt payments in the future.
We support this budget and encourage all voters to vote âyesâ on Tuesday, April 24.
