Carl E. Peachman, 82, Sandy Hook, beloved husband of Doris F. (Pascaretti) Peachman, died in the presence of his loving family at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, March 10. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on September 29, 1924, son of Edward and Ida (Kleiss) Peachman.
In addition to his cherished wife, he is survived by his daughter, Diane Peachman of Queens, N.Y.; his son, Kenneth Peachman and his wife, Kathleen, of Danbury; and his five grandchildren, Jessica, Aileen, Kathryn, Melissa, and Kevin Peachman. He is also survived by his sister, Lorna Bruce of Texas; his uncle, Albert Kleiss of Bethel; his aunt, Lillian Sommers of Norwalk; his dear cousins, Melinda and Debbie; as well as several beloved extended family members.
Mr Peachman was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. He served in Ardennes, Central Europe, Northern France, and Rhineland. He was a recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.
A loving and devoted husband, Mr Peachman and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 6, 2006.
Funeral services were held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield on March 13. Cremation and interment will take place at the direction of the family.
