Brownie Sweetheart Dance

A Success

To the Editor:

On February 11, the Newtown Brownies had their annual Sweetheart Dance at the Reed School. The girls and their chaperones had a wonderful time square dancing, thanks to caller Allan Brozek of the Newtown Rockin’ Roosters.

The dance was a great success thanks to many volunteers and especially, our local merchants who were so generous with their donations. Listed below are the many supporters who donated gift certificates to their businesses.

Vasi’s International Gymnastics, recently opened, located on Pecks Lane, Newtown Nail Spa, Magic Garden, Newtown Hardware, J&L Movie Center, My Place Restaurant, The Newtown Deli, HeRo Barbering Salon for Men, and Gotta Dance. Additionally, thank you to Panera Bread and Big Y for donating their absolutely delicious cookies.

I know that the local businesses are very often asked to make donations, and I, as a resident of Newtown, am grateful for your continued generosity and support. Thank you.
