Special Effects Video Show Will Kick Off
Summer Reading For Teens & âTweens
UnReal Productions returns to the C.H. Booth Library this summer with Video Special Effects Show on Thursday, July 7.
Mark Koncewicz is coming back again with some new material for Newtown students entering sixth grade and up. Attendees will be the stars in undersea adventures, skateboarding, rafting and other videos where theyâll appear in full screen chasing rapids, diving deep, and other fantastic voyages.Â
Attendees will enjoy pizza for dinner at 5:30 The T&T Café (thatâs the board room on the first floor), followed by the show from 6 to 7. Sign up at the main floor circulation desk or call 426-4533.
The show will kick off âTweens & Teens Summer Reading at the library. The Young Adult Department has been given a number of prizes from generous local merchants that will be given away in weekly raffle drawings.
For every 50 pages that are read, students get one ticket in our drawing for gift certificates for prizes such as movie tickets, comic books, photography service, haircuts, manicures, and other special items.
Readers will be eligible for only one prize per week, but can enter every week.
Forms will be on hand in the libraryâs YA area from July 7 through August 20. Students may count all the books they read for any summer program such as school lists or the Governorâs Reading Challenge.
Visit the library or call Young Adult Librarian Margaret Brown for additional information.
