Fetzer Presses For Explanation For Resignations

What sparked the resignations of the employees from the town's land-use

department? That's what Selectman Gary Fetzer wants to know.

Dave Thompson, the town's environmental official, and Rita MacMillan, the

Planning & Zoning Commission's administrative aide, both quit their jobs in

March.

Mr Fetzer had asked that an explanation be made regarding their resignations

Monday night by either First Selectman Bob Cascella or Personnel Director

Nancy Markey. However, none was made. Mr Cascella said it will be put on the

agenda for the selectmen's next meeting April 21.

"All I hear is rumors," said Mr Fetzer. "I get calls from people asking what's

going on."

Neither employee was willing to discuss their decision to resign.
