First-Time Homebuyers Seminar

DANBURY — Literacy Volunteers, in partnership with People’s Bank, will hold a course on first-time home buying. Local real estate agents and insurance brokers, as well as home inspectors and attorneys, will speak in the program.

The course was developed in partnership with Consumer Credit Counseling of Southern New England in cooperation with local real estate agents. The course provides the participants with the necessary background information on home buying. The course comprises 121/2  hours of instruction and advice by experts on such matters as budgeting, home inspection, interest rates, and homeowners’ insurance.

The course will take place on five consecutive Mondays and Wednesdays, starting June 4 and concluding June 18, at the Literacy Volunteers of America Danbury headquarters, 5 Library Place.

The course will be given with a slide presentation, workbooks, and pencil and paper exercises focusing, in a practical way, on the intricacies of home ownership. For more information or to register, call 800-772-1090.
