Myrtle S. DiNovi
Myrtle S. DiNovi, 79, died on May 8, at her daughterâs home in Laguna Beach, Calif., following a lengthy illness.
Born July 27, 1921 in Washington, daughter of the late Mark W. and Bertha May (Sheldon) Swett, she lived in Newtown and Sandy Hook for the past 16 years. She was predeceased by her husbands, Louis DiNovi of Newtown in June 2000, and Thomas Bowman of Goldens Bridge, N.Y. in March 1979.
She graduated from Danbury Nurses Academy in 1942 and was a registered nurse for 43 years. She was also very active with the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her two daughters, Anne Hooper of Binghamton, N.Y., and Barbara Pierce of Laguna Beach, Calif.; her sons-in-law, Doug Hooper and Russell Pierce; three grandchildren, Emily and Alison Hooper and Sawyer Pierce; sisters, Bonnie Baer and Mildred Shaughnessy; brother, Mark Swett; and several nieces and nephews.
Myrtle touched the lives of everyone she met; she is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury on May 26 at 10 am, where she will be laid to rest.
