Open Turrets For Memorial Day

DANBURY — For Memorial Day Monday, the public will be welcomed to enjoy a day of hands-on history at Military Museum of Southern New England.

After participating in the Memorial Day Parade in downtown Danbury on May 28, the museum’s collection of military vehicles will return to 125 Park Avenue. There, visitors will be able to climb inside the vehicles, including tanks and armored cars ranging from World War I to modern military ventures. Anyone planning to climb on or inside any of the vehicles must be wearing rubber-soled shoes.

Museum staff will be on hand to answer questions, and the museum itself will be open for the day.

Open Turret Day will run from noon to 5 pm. Admission is $4 for adults, and $2 for children age 6 and over and senior citizens. For additional information contact the museum at 790-9277.
