Three Men Charged in Drug Bust
Police charged three men in their 20s in a drug bust on the evening of May 31
at a South Main Street apartment.
The Special Investigations Unit of the town police department and the
northwestern unit of the state police's Statewide Narcotics Task Force
participated in the arrests.
Police charged each of the three men with sale of marijuana, possession of
marijuana, and operating a drug factory. Charged were: James Burr, Walden
Anderson, and William "B.J." Rooney, all of 113 South Main Street.
Police said they conducted an investigation during the past two months into
the alleged illegal sale of marijuana at 113 South Main Street where police
made undercover drug purchases.
One of the drug purchases resulted in police executing a warrant, and seizing
more than two ounces of marijuana, $1,500 in cash, and hydroponic plant
growing equipment, police said.
Police processed the accused at State Police Troop A barracks in Southbury.
Each of the three men were released on $5,000 bonds for appearances later this
month in Danbury Superior Court.
