Neighborhood Group Distributes Its Own Newsletter
The Rocky Glen Area Association, an ad hoc Sandy Hook group formed to address
developmental issues, has published the first edition of its newsletter, The
Glen.
The newsletter dated May 1, is published by Jack McGarvey of 8 Fleetwood
Drive, who is the acting association president.
The lead item in the newsletter concerns the PSD Partnership's ongoing
planning to build a residential subdivision in the area of Cherry Street, Pine
Street and Narragansett Trail. In the article, Mr McGarvey calls for the
defeat of a second version of the subdivision to be submitted by PSD to the
Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z). The P&Z rejected an initial version of
the subdivision plan April 18.
In a commentary piece, Mr McGarvey provides his views on the operations of the
town's Conservation Commission, the agency charged with issuing wetlands
construction permits.
The newsletter is distributed to families in the neighborhood of Glen Road,
Buttonball Drive, Beechwood Drive, Fleetwood Drive, Maple Drive, Hemlock Road,
Spruce Drive, Pine Street, Cherry Street, and Black Cherry Lane.
