Spring Babe Ruth Softball Evaluations

The Newtown Babe Ruth Softball League will hold evaluations for all girls playing softball this spring on Saturday, March 24, in the Newtown Middle School A Gym. U8s will meet from 10 am to 12 noon; U10s from 12 noon to 2 pm; U12s from 2 to 4 pm; U14s from 4 to 6 pm. There will be NO evaluation of 6-7 year olds. Registrations will be accepted through March 16 and walk-ins to the evaluations are welcome.

 

Spring Soccer Registrations

Nighthawk Sports Camps Taking Registrations

The Nighthawk Sports Camps will opens its fifth season in the summer of 2007. Fun, safe instruction coupled with enthusiastic attention to each child’s specific needs is the focus of the camp. Last year, coach Dreger and coach Carey – certified physical education instructors – introduced Wacky Waterday. All area children ages 6 to 12 are welcome. Tennis Made Simple

Val Stoiana, a certified tennis professional, former touring pro and NCAA Division I player, will be offering adult and junior lessons in his Tennis Made Simple program beginning April 2 at The Heritage Tennis Courts in Southbury. The adult program meets twice a week for five weeks and participants can choose their combination of days and times: weekdays from 10 to 11 am or 6 to 7 pm; also Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1 to 2 pm and Saturdays 10 to 11 am. The cost for the program (10 lessons), is $100. The junior program meets once a week for five weeks and sessions offered are Mondays through Thursdays, 4 to 5 pm or 5 to 6 pm, and Saturdays 11 am to 12 noon. Namath/Dockery Football Camp

The Joe Namath/John Dockery Football Camp will open its 36th season July 8 through July 13 at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury. This is a contact and non-contact program for boys ages 8 to 18.
