Following two incidents of hostile behavior occurring on two successive days, state police arrested a Garner Correctional Institution prisoner twice.

State police said that at about 7 pm on March 22, Garner inmate Aaron J. Lewis, 18, threw urine onto a correction officer at the high-security prison on Nunnawauk Road.

After investigating, state police arrested Lewis on a charge of assault on a correction officer.

Lewis was arraigned on that charge on March 23 in Danbury Superior Court.

Later on March 23, at about 4 pm, Lewis spat on a correction officer’s face, state police said.

After investigating, state police arrested Lewis on charges of assault on a correction officer and also refusal to be fingerprinted.

Lewis was scheduled for arraignment in Danbury Superior Court on March 26.

Lewis is an unsentenced inmate at Garner who is being held there on bail in connection with a pending charge of possession of a weapon in a correctional institution. He has been incarcerated since last September 20.
