Habitat Meeting For
Prospective Homeowners
DANBURY â Housatonic Habitat, the local affiliate of the non-profit homebuilder Habitat for Humanity, is opening the selection process on homes it is currently rehabilitating at 43-45 Rowan Street in Danbury. The four homes are all two-bedroom.
Applicants must have a demonstrated need for decent, affordable housing; help rebuild the home, putting in at least 400 hours of sweat equity; and a willingness to partner with Housatonic Habitat.
Like all Habitat homes, the units will be sold at cost with no interest charged, making the sale price well below market value.
Informational meetings will be held at 9 am on Saturday, June 2, at St Paulâs Lutheran Church, 44 Spring Street; 7 pm on Tuesday, June 5, at New Hope Baptist Church, 10 Cherry Street; and 7 pm, Thursday, June 7, at Mt Pleasant AME Zion Church, 69 Rowan Street.
Interested applicants should bring a copy of their current federal income tax form, copies of two paycheck stubs, copies of latest credit card bills, copies of latest utility bills not included in rent, and a copy of their most recent bank statement.
