Merryhill Child Care Center Celebrating 20 Years Of  Service In Newtown

Merryhill Child Care Center, Inc, is celebrating 20 years of child care service this month and to commemorate this milestone, the center will host a 20th Anniversary Harvest Fest on Saturday, October 2, at Newtown Youth Academy. The public is invited to join current and former Merryhill staff, children, and families for a celebration that will run from 4 to 7 pm.

The Harvest Fest will include a silent auction and raffle, food, music, activities and games, along with the drawing for a Montana getaway raffle.

Tickets for the raffle are $10 each. Winners need not be present at the drawing to win. First prize is a getaway for up to ten people in Whitefish, Mont., and includes eight days/seven nights accommodations at a log cabin and guest cabin (restrictions apply) valued at $4,250. Second prize is a $250 gift certificate for a custom hand-drawn portrait for up to two people redeemable at Hearthstone Portraits in Newtown, and third prize is a $100 American Express Gift Card.

In addition to the anniversary, Merryhill Child Care Center, Inc, became reaccredited by the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in February, according to a press release received this week. This distinction demonstrates the center’s dedication to providing a high-quality early childhood program that provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children.
