The next Northern Fairfield Professionals (NFP) meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, 5:30-8 pm, at the Knights of Columbus building on Saint Rose campus, 46 Church Hill Road.

NFP is a free networking group that hosts a guest speaker to discuss a topic of interest for business professionals or professionals looking for a job. During the meeting, an interactive panel discussion with talent acquisition professionals from some local companies will take place and there will be opportunities to network with other attendees.

The panel will provide insight on best practices for working with recruiters and corporations, along with a discussion of hiring trends in today’s job market. The panel will also discuss the process used to screen and qualify candidates, as well as misconceptions that have surfaced in regards to the process. Other discussion topics may include recommendations for candidates, social media, and networking. The three panel members are Melissa Ricks, Management Development Program recruiter at M&T Bank, Sarah Binderberger, head of talent at People Architects, and Christopher Philavong, corporate recruiter at HealthPlanOne.
