Northern Fairfield Professionals is a local, free networking group that meets the second Tuesday of the month. Guest speakers usually come and give a presentation or workshop for business professionals or professionals looking for a job. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 5:30-8 pm, Knights of Columbus building on St Rose of Lima Campus, 46 Church Hill Road.

The speaker for this meeting is Michael Shavel, a career development specialist with Bridgeport American Job Center. Shavel provides resume and job search assistance to a wide variety of job seekers including laid off executives and professionals, persons with disabilities, justice-involved individuals, and those reentering the workforce. Shavel’s presentation will help attendees learn effective job search strategies in a stagnant job market, identify steps and challenges when exploring a career change, and discover trends in Connecticut’s labor market. The presentation will run from 6-7:30 pm with an opportunity for networking from 5:30-6 pm and again from 7:30-8 pm.
