Sharon Ann Cordova, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at the age of 78 with her husband of 52 years, Andrew, by her side. Born in Norwalk on April 21, 1948, Sharon grew up in Bethel and Brookfield, and raised her family in Sandy Hook.

Sharon attended Brookfield High School, and worked at Barden Corporation, but her greatest joy in life was caring for others, whether it be her family or cooking for little ones at The Children’s Adventure Center.

Sharon was a bright light; her warmth, kindness and unforgettable smile could light up every room, and she was loved by so many. She had a gift for making people feel special, always remembering important moments and offering the warmest hugs. She was an incredible cook, and baker, known by many for her famous Christmas cookie platters during the holidays, made with love for everyone she cared about.

Sharon was a constant presence on the sidelines of every court and field, endlessly cheering on her grandchildren, and all their teammates, with pride and love.

Sharon leaves behind the love of her life, her husband, Andrew Cordova; son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren David, Wendi, Brady, Cody, and Zachary Cordova of Woodbury; son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, Jeremy, Alison, Jayden, and Addison Cordova of Sandy Hook; brother and sister in-law Mark and Ann Marie Barrett of New Milford; and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, David and Caroline Barrett.

Family and friends are invited to gather on May 31, 2026, from 2-5 pm, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown. A graveside service is planned for Monday, June 1, at 11 am, at Elwood Cemetery in Bethel. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Former longtime Sandy Hook resident Sharon Ann Cordova, 78, passed away peacefully on May 24, with her husband of 52 years, Andrew, by her side.
