The Friends of the C.H. Booth Library announces its annual temporary donation pause from Monday, June 22-Sunday, July 19, 2026. During this break, the Friends will not accept any books, jigsaw puzzles, media (LPs, CDs, DVDs), etc.

Any donations taken to the library for the Friends, or to the Friends’ storage facility on Old Farms Road, from June 22-July 19 will be discarded.

The Friends will again welcome donations in their Donation Room at the library starting Monday, July 20.

This annual break will allow Friends volunteers to prepare for its upcoming 50th Book Sale, scheduled for July 10-July 14 at Reed Intermediate School in Newtown.

Book Sale Chair Denise Kaiser offered her thanks to “our generous donors for respecting the pause again this year.

“Thanks to your cooperation and support the Friends plans to host one of the largest and most well-run book sales in the country again this July,” Kaiser added. “We hope to see you at the sale and then back in our Donation Room after July 20 when we resume our on-site efforts on behalf of the library.”

For more info about the sale, visit boothbooksale.org or send e-mail to boothbooksale@yahoo.com.

The annual break in receiving donations allows Friends volunteers to prepare for the upcoming book sale. This year’s fundraiser is scheduled for July 10-July 14 at Reed Intermediate School.
