Look At The Record

To The Editor:

After years in Hartford, it is time for voters to look past Mitch Bolinsky’s campaign slogans and look at his actual voting record.

Bolinsky presents himself as a champion of Newtown families and public safety. Yet his record tells a different story. He voted against gun-safety legislation that included stronger restrictions on open carry and protections intended to keep firearms out of the hands of domestic-violence offenders.

On reproductive rights, Bolinsky voted against legislation protecting reproductive health decisions in 2022. He has continued to oppose legislation expanding reproductive-health access.

His education record also deserves scrutiny. The Connecticut Education Association gives him a 53% legislative score for 2026, down from 66.1% in 2023-24.

And despite fourteen years in office, his elections have hardly been overwhelming victories. In 2024, he received just 51.9% of the vote.

Experience matters, but experience without accountability is simply incumbency.

Voters in the 106th District deserve to examine the record — not the campaign rhetoric — and decide whether Mitch Bolinsky's votes reflect the priorities of the people he represents.

It's time for a change.
