To The Editor:

In today’s political climate, it’s easy to question the motivations of those running for public office. But every once in a while, someone comes along whose actions speak far louder than any campaign promise. Amybeth Laroche is one of those people.

As a firefighter with the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire Department, where I proudly serve alongside Amybeth’s partner, Steve, I’ve had the opportunity to get to know and see firsthand, the kind of person Amybeth truly is.

Long before she ever considered running for political office, Amybeth was already making a difference. Her unwavering support for our fire department and the Sandy Hook community has never been about recognition, political ambition, or personal gain. She has consistently gone above and beyond, stopping at nothing to support the people and organizations that make our community what it is.

That kind of dedication cannot be manufactured on the campaign trail. It comes from a genuine commitment to helping others, and Amybeth demonstrates that in the way she lives every day.

Now, as she seeks to represent us in the Connecticut State Senate, I see that same dedication and determination. Amybeth isn’t a career politician. She’s a mother, a professional, and someone who understands the concerns of everyday Connecticut residents. She isn’t looking for a political career; she’s looking for an opportunity to make a difference on a larger scale.

We need more people in Hartford who understand that public service is exactly that — service to the public. Leadership isn’t about titles, political connections, or campaign promises. It’s about character, integrity, and a proven willingness to stand up for others.

Amybeth didn’t become involved in her community because she decided to run for office. She decided to run for office because she has always cared about her community.

That distinction matters, it’s why I’m proud to call her my friend and why I know she is the right person to represent us in Hartford.
