Connecticut’s largest 9/11 tribute, with thousands of motorcyclists from across the Northeast, will return this weekend. The 2026 CT United Ride is planned for Sunday, August 30, rain or shine. The ride will depart from Sherwood Island State Park in Westport around 11:30 am.

Those planning to drive in the center of Newtown around midday should note local roads in the center of town will be effected while the motorcade passes through the area.

This year's ride will honor the 25th anniversary of 9/11 while also celebrating the 250th anniversary of this country’s founding.

The ride will again follow a 60-mile route that will enter Newtown by way of State Route 302 in Dodgingtown. It will follow Route 302 (Dodgingtown Road, then Sugar Street) to its intersection with Route 25/South Main Street in the center of town. Participants will turn there and follow Route 25 into Monroe. A police motorcade will lead the group along the route.

Spectators are encouraged. Fire companies will have trucks with large American flags raised over roadways, including at least two locations within Newtown.

CT United Ride is a fundraiser for the CT State Firefighters Emergency Relief Fund. Registration is $30 per rider, and $30 per passenger. Motorcyclists can still register on Saturday, August 29, between 11:30 am and 5:30 pm, at Captain’s Cove Marina in Bridgeport; or the morning of the event, between 8:30-10:15 am, at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.
