First Selectman Bruce Walczak is seeking residents to volunteer to fill vacancies on the following boards:

The Fairfield Hills Master Plan Committee has seven seats available for registered voters interested in contributing to an updated plan for the campus. Applications are due by September 4.

The Bike & Trail Ad Hoc Committee has a vacancy open to any registered voter. Applications are due by September 4.

The Fairfield Hills Authority has a vacancy open to a Republican or unaffiliated voter. Applications are due by September 4.

School Bus Stop Arm Hearing Officer, open to a registered voter who is also an attorney, to conduct administrative hearings for school bus stop‑arm violation appeals. The role involves reviewing evidence, ensuring due process, and issuing determinations in accordance with Connecticut law. Applications due by September 4.

The Community Center Commission has a vacancy open to a Democrat or unaffiliated voter.

The Conservation Commission has a vacancy open to a Democrat or unaffiliated voter.

The Fair Rent Commission has a vacancy open to a Republican or unaffiliated voter.

The Newtown Building Information & Infrastructure Committee has open seats available to any registered voter. Specific expertise needed includes: Engineering or construction knowledge and experience with building mechanical, electrical, or structural systems. IT knowledge and experience such as data management (data architects, database administrators, and data analysts), business analysis, systems engineering, or document management, or large scale project management experience.
