To The Editor:

We want to thank Michelle Embree Ku, Democratic candidate for the 106th House District, and Rob Blanchard and Amybeth LaRoche, the Democratic and Republican candidates for the 28th Senate District, for joining us on Two Guys & A Pint.

Each gave us time for a conversation about the issues facing our communities and what they hope to accomplish in Hartford. We appreciate their willingness to let Newtown residents hear their views in their own words.

We invited incumbent State Representative Mitch Bolinsky to join us as well and were disappointed that he declined. It would have been a valuable opportunity for his constituents to hear how he approaches their concerns and what he hopes to do in the coming legislative session.

We also thank The Newtown Bee for its partnership in bringing attention to these conversations. Giving voters more opportunities to hear directly from candidates makes for a better informed community.
