Endorses Embree Ku
To The Editor:
The Newtown Conservation Coalition is comprised of individuals, families, businesses, organizations and leaders who share a common goal: To preserve and protect Newtown’s precious natural & historical assets.
On November 3, we must vote for the right person to represent us in the State House of Representatives. The choice could not be clearer and that is why I am endorsing Michelle Embree Ku.
Michelle doesn’t just stand by our side on the issues we care most about. Michelle stands with us. She shares our priorities and leads the way with action.
After 20+ years of trying, Michelle was instrumental in helping us to finally, permanently, protect 6 Commerce Rd. as open space.
Mitch made excuses and said it couldn’t be done. Mitch waited on the sidelines until Senator Hwang got on board and all of our hard work was done. Mitch did not lead. He followed.
Michelle was the only member of the Board of Selectmen to vote against discontinuing historic Rochambeau Trail/Reservoir Rd., for free, for the sole benefit of a developer.
Mitch? Mitch who?
Michelle supports investment in lower cost, clean, renewable energy, like Solar.
Mitch? He voted against it.
Michelle always shows up. Michelle hikes our precious trails with us. Michelle attends our meetings. As a scientist, Michelle does her own thorough research. I’ve never seen Mitch on a trail. He has never called me with questions.
Mitch just follows the leaders of his political party. Mitch isn’t a leader. He’s a follower.
These are just a few of the reasons the CT League of Conservation Voters has endorsed Michelle Embree Ku…..and today, I am proud to stand with them and offer this additional, unequivocable endorsement as a resident and as the founder of the non-partisan Newtown Conservation Coalition. The choice couldn’t be any clearer.
