To The Editor:

I have seen all over the news today that Republican Ken Paxton, won’t debate Democrat James Talarico in Texas. The question being discussed is why? What is Paxton afraid of?

In Newtown we have the same situation. Republican and current State Representative Mitch Bolinsky wouldn’t debate Democratic candidate Michelle Ku. Why? What is Mitch afraid of? He has stated publicly that “he has nothing to gain from a debate”, an outrageously self-centered statement. Well, Mitch, Newtowners sure had something to gain from it.

Political debates are important because they give voters a direct, side-by-side view of candidates to evaluate their policies, temperament, and leadership under pressure.

Hey Mitch, why wouldn’t you give us what we need to make a decision between you and Michelle? What are YOU afraid of?

I’m voting for the person who puts Newtowners’ needs before his own. I’m voting for Michelle Ku for State Representative on November 3.
