To The Editor:

1. She listens. Michelle has been knocking on doors and listening to Newtown residents for months. She understands our priorities, and her policies are based on what she’s heard from us.

2. She’s been part of the Newtown government for many years. We’ve elected Michelle to the Board of Education (where she served as chairperson), the Board of Selectmen, and the Legislative Council, so she knows Newtown not only as a resident and a mom, but from doing the day to day work of governing our town.

3. She brings people together. Michelle doesn’t just follow the party line; she reaches across the aisle and works with everyone to seek solutions that work for all of us.

4. She understands and shares our concerns about taxes, traffic, housing, healthcare, and keeping Newtown vibrant and beautiful.

5. She’s rigorously honest and reliable. She works hard, and doesn’t tell lies.

6. She has concrete ideas for what Hartford can do to help Newtown, and her ideas are based on facts and evidence. Go to her website kuisforyou.com and read all about Michelle’s solutions.

7. She’ll fight to use state resources to make up for this corrupt federal government’s cruel cuts.

8. She’ll fight for us. She’ll work in Hartford to make sure our town gets what we need. As part of the governing party, Michelle will have the power to make sure Newtown’s needs are prioritized.

For these reasons, I will be voting to send Michelle Embree Ku to Hartford. We don’t need another 2 years of smiling photo ops while Newtown’s needs are ignored. Vote for a new era in Newtown.
