To The Editor:

As one of Julie Kerton’s Brookfield neighbors, I have gotten to know her well. I fully endorse her to become the next State Representative for the 107th District of Newtown, Bethel and Brookfield.

Julie is one of those great people who you meet and get to know and really respect. She’s a great listener, fair, reasonable, warm and full of positive energy. She is truly dedicated to wanting to do great things for her community.

Julie has served on the Brookfield Board of Assessment Appeals for the last 10 years, most of them as its chairperson. Her reputation in that role is being compassionate, fair and diligent. As a licensed real estate agent, Julie fully understands the challenges to families of housing affordability and property taxes.

In her day jobs, Julie has worked as a Human Resources / Benefits Administrator and also a Behavioral Specialist for children with special needs — when you meet her, you quickly realize that Julie has a deep compassion for children and families and the challenges they face. Julie also managed the Lord’s Pantry, a nonprofit organization providing support for people living with HIV/AIDS and their children.

Julie’s experiences are EXACTLY what we need in the state legislature. She is a person who has a deep commitment to public education, expanding health care, and addressing affordability. But more importantly, Julie will listen to all her constituents with respect and work diligently to address the needs of the district.

I feel lucky to have Julie as a friend and hope that you will vote to make her the next State Representative for the 107th District.
