For the 8-and-under championships, full results were unavailable. However, swimmers placing at those championships included Anika and Abby Fagerholm, Megan McDonald, Shannon Kiss, Emily Maher, Ellen Atkinson, Kimmie Gates, Michelle Isabella, Grace Hubbard, Vishu Kishore, Tommy Gleason, Zach Carfi and Eric Fiore.

Following the championships, 36 swimmers (plus three alternates) made it to All Stars – a record for the Torpedoes, who last year took only 26 swimmers! At this event swimmers are required to participate in five events, designed to test their abilities to swim all four strokes in competition. It is a grueling competition, particularly for the 8 & under swimmers, but there were many great moments and the Torpedoes truly demonstrated their well-rounded skills.

Special congratulations must go to Abby Fagerholm, who brought home a first-place trophy in the girls 8 and under section … much to the delight of her two sisters, Carolyn and Anika, who also qualified. Abby finished seventh overall last year and so has done a tremendous job to move up so significantly in the 2003-04 season.

Shannon Kiss, a newcomer to the Torpedoes, also swam well and placed fifth overall.

Other top placements included - Anthony Fiore (who missed first only by 100ths of a second and produced photo finish after photo finish in all his events); Luke Fiore and teammate Kyle O’Connor (who finished third and second, respectively); Kevin Herring (who came in last minute as an alternate and proved his potential by finishing ninth overall); and Jax VanWaalwijk (second).
