Edward Eliscu
A memorial service for playwright, screenwriter and lyricist Edward Eliscu,
who died June 18 in Newtown, will be held Sunday, September 13 from 2 to 4:30
p.m. in the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall.
Judith D. Kaufman
Judith Diane Kaufman, 51, daughter of David G. Kaufman of Newtown, died
Saturday, September 5, in Spokane, Wash.
She was born February 10, 1947, in Boston, Mass. She was a graduate of Newtown
High School and of the University of Chicago with a BA and PhD. Miss Kaufman
moved to Washington 19 years ago and taught at Eastern Washington University
as a professor of English.
In addition to her father, she is survived by a sister, Marjorie S. Fieldman
of Manhattan Beach, Calif. She was predeceased by her mother, Shirley Bernice
(Goodman) Kaufman in 1989.
Private funeral services were held in New York. A memorial service will be
held in the Spokane area at a later date.
Memorials may be given in Miss Kaufman's name to Eastern Washington
University.

Thomas Schiavone
Thomas J. Schiavone, 87, father of Barbara Capozziello of Newtown, died on
Monday, September 7, in Fairfield. Born in Providence, R.I., on August 16,
1911, son of the late Vincent and Maria (DeAngelis) Schiavone, he was a
Bridgeport resident all of his life.
He was the owner and operator of Barnum Refrigeration for many years in
Bridgeport.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth (Tortorella) Schiavone; four
grandsons, Christopher Capozziello, III, Thomas Capozziello, Stephen
Capozziello and Anthony Capozziello; two great-grandchildren, Kristina and
Alicia Capozziello, all of Newtown; two brothers, James Schiavone of
Huntington and Dominick Schiavone of Cheshire; one sister, Celia Cavallaro of
Shelton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother,
Louis Schiavone, and two sisters, Mary Sanseverino and Anna Beck.
The funeral was held Thursday, September 10, in the Parente-Lauro Funeral
Home, Inc, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, and in St Ambrose Church,
Bridgeport. Interment was in St Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.

Donald Moran
Donald J. Moran, 62, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, September 8, in St Vincent's
Medical Center. His sister, Joan Schneider, lives in Sandy Hook.
Mr Moran was born in Bridgeport and resided in Fairfield 28 years. He was a
veteran of the Korean War, serving with the US Navy. He was an electronics
technician with Avco-Lycoming/Allied Signal and was a steward with Local 1010
United Auto Workers for 20 years.
Mr Moran was a member of the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield and the
Germania Schwaben Club.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen McDermott Moran of Fairfield; two sons,
Garrett M. Moran of Jacksonville, Fla., and Bryan J. Moran of Naperville,
Ill.; one other sister, Marjorie Michalek of Stratford; three grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews. Mr Moran was predeceased by three brothers,
Richard Moran, Jack Moran and Edward M. Moran.
The funeral will be held on Friday, September 11, at 8:15 am, in the
Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, and at
9 am in St Andrew Church, Bridgeport, with a Mass of Christian burial.
Interment will be announced. Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday,
September 10, from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions
may be made to The Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, PO Box 5022,
Wallingford, CT 06492-7522.
Eileen Knapick
Eileen Cullen Knapick, 71, mother of Eileen Triber of Newtown, died Sunday,
September 6, in Lord Chamberlain Health Care Facility, Stratford.
Mrs Knapick was born in Bridgeport. She was a Trumbull resident for many
years.
Mrs Knapick was a retired auditor for People's Savings Bank and a member of
the Nichols Improvement Association.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by a son, James J. Knapick of Hunt
Valley, Md.; three other daughters, Patricia Knapick of DelRay Beach, Fla.,
Nancy Glacomozzi of Waltham, Mass., and Jane Osborn of Trumbull; seven
grandchildren, Scott and Diane Glacomozzi, Laura Osborne, Elizabeth, Andrew
and Victoria Knapick, and Julian Triber.
Funeral services were Thursday, September 10, in the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull
Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, and in St Catherine of Siena Church.
Interment was in St Michael's Cemetery.

Ralph L. Knibloe
Ralph L. Knibloe, 89, of Venice, Fla., and formerly of Newtown, died on
Friday, September 4.
Mr Knibloe was born March 4, 1911 in Sharon. He moved to Venice, Fla., in
1973. He was a retired owner/operator of Knibloe Real Estate Agency in
Newtown.
Mr Knibloe was the eastern representative of the Williams Manufacturing Co in
Portsmouth, Ohio. He graduated from the Suffield Academy in Suffield and from
the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
He was a member of St Mark's Episcopal Church in Venice, Fla.
Mr Knibloe is survived by his fiancee, Barbara A. Jameson of Venice, Fla.; and
two cousins, Paul Knibloe of Oakville and Ann Minatti of Stratford.
A memorial service will be Saturday, September 12, at 11 am at St Mark's
Episcopal Church, Venice, with an additional memorial service at St Thomas
Episcopal Church, Amenia Union, N.Y., at a later date.
His ashes will be interred in St Mark's Episcopal Church, Venice, Fla., and
Hillside Cemetery in Sharon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Mark's Episcopal Church
Building Fund, 508 Riviera Street, Venice, Fla. 34285.
Ewing Funeral Home of Venice, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.

Michael Higginson
Michael Thomas Higginson, infant son of Jennifer Gill and Louis M. Higginson
of Sandy Hook, died in the Danbury Hospital Friday, September 4, shortly after
his birth.
Besides his parents, he is survived by maternal grandparents, Jay and Renee
Gill of Sandy Hook; paternal grandmother, Linda Higginson of Sandy Hook;
maternal great-grandparents, John and Louise Gill of Newtown; maternal
great-grandmother, Teresa Fow of Naugatuck; paternal great-grandmother, Elsie
Dean of Sandy Hook; and several aunts and uncles.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions
may be made to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Danbury Hospital, Danbury, Conn.

Mary A. Kakadeles
Mary A. Kakadeles, 76, mother of James George Kakadeles of Sandy Hook, died
Thursday, September 3, at Arlington Memorial Hospital, Arlington, Tex., where
she was undergoing treatment for leukemia.
Mary Ann Jurdy Whitlock Kakadeles was born April 30, 1922, in Lawrence, Mass.,
a daughter of the late David and Ramza Murad Jurdy, and had been a resident of
Bethel for the past 26 years. She was a 1939 graduate of Danbury High School,
and, until her retirement in 1984, she had been employed as a fore-lady at
Pitney Bowes for 15 years.
Mrs Kakadeles served as past president of the Bethel area Chapter #2449 of the
American Association of Retired Persons and was a member of the 60-plus Club
of Bethel. Until her death, she served as president of the Holiday Senior
Bowling League, where she consistently achieved highest league average. She
gave of herself unselfishly and tirelessly as a volunteer to many causes and
aided those in need and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees.
In addition to her son, her survivors include two daughters, Joyce Whitlock
Dreslin of Arlington, Tex., and Mary Whitlock Dolph of Austin, Tex.; another
son, Wallace George Whitlock of New Milford; six grandchildren, Courtney
Dreslin of Dallas, Tex.; Regan and Aimee Whitlock of New Milford.; Lauren
Dolph of Austin, Tex., and Jenna and Kaitlyn Kakadeles of Sandy Hook; two
sisters, Isabelle Kalil and Lorraine Aberisk of Danbury; and a brother, George
Jurdy of Danbury; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a
sister, Clara Maccarini of Brewster.
Graveside services were Wednesday, September 9, at St Mary Cemetery, Bethel.

Timothy J. McCarroll
Timothy J. McCarroll, 56, of Danbury, father of Timothy J. McCarroll and Tara
J. McCarroll of Newtown, died at New Milford Hospital on Saturday, September
5.
He was born in Danbury, June 18, 1942, a son of the late Walter J. and Helen
(Pendergast) McCarroll. He attended Danbury Schools.
Mr McCarroll was employed as a steamfitter for the Steamfitter's Union Local
#777.
Mr McCarroll was an avid horseman. He rode with the Palomino Posse, which
performed at the Danbury Fair and local parades.
In addition to his son and daughter, his survivors include two other
daughters, Tracy J. McCarroll Fisher and Terry J. Heneghan, both of
Brookfield; three brothers, Dr Walter J. McCarroll of Tallahassee, Fla.,
Charles B. McCarroll of Southington, and Dr Thomas R. McCarroll of Brookfield;
five grandchildren, TJ, Ryan, Taylar, Dylan and Brandon; and several nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury,
on Tuesday, September 8.
Cremation will be at the convenience of the family, and interment of Mr
McCarroll's cremains will be in St Peter Cemetery.
