Kenneth Bard Named Director At Ashlar
Kenneth Bard has been named director of operations and assisted living at Ashlar of Newtown on Toddy Hill Road. Ashlar of Newtown is part of Masonicare and includes a 156-bed long-term care and rehabilitation facility, and Lockwood Lodge, the adjacent 54-apartment assisted living community on the 45-acre campus.
Thomas Gutner, president of Ashlar of Newtown, made the announcement.
âKen brings a broad range of skills and experience to our organization, which include budgeting and financial analysis, employee relations and staff development, information technology, and customer focused services, Mr Gutner said. âHis varied background is invaluable as we work to provide the best quality of care possible to our residents and patients.â
Mr Bard holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a licensed nursing home administrator in Connecticut, having completed the Certification Program in Long-term Healthcare Management at the University of Connecticut.Â
Mr Bard will be responsible for the daily operations of Ashlar of Newtown and Lockwood Lodge, including plant operations, food services, social services ,and therapeutic recreation.
