Nina E. Knopp
Nina E. (Stith) Knopp, 77, of Windmill Road, Knollcrest, New Fairfield, died at New Milford Hospital February 25. She was the wife of Walter A. Knopp.
Born in Norristown, Penn., September 18, 1923, daughter of the late Van B. and Irma (Felton) Stith, she moved later to Mount Vernon, N.Y., where she was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School.
Mrs Knopp lived in Newtown before moving to New Fairfield in 1967.
She was a former member of the Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury and was an avid UConn womenâs basketball fan. She followed her grandchildren faithfully through their many sports-related activities.
Besides her husband of 52 years, she is survived by a son, Walter A. âScooterâ Knopp of New Milford; two daughters, Linda S. Carbone and her husband, Robert C., of Danbury, and Nina E. Dunlap and her husband, Gary, of New Milford; one brother, Van B. Stith of Somers, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Peter Church, Danbury, March 1.
Interment was in Newtown Village Cemetery, Newtown.
