Local Business Fighting Back Against Domestic Violence
SOUTHBURY â During the month of October, National Domestic Violence Awareness month, Molly Maid of the Tribury area and Newtown will be supporting the Ms Molly Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting victims and families affected by domestic violence.
While its teams will be gathering personal care items, household goods, and financial contributions from their clients, the companyâs office will be donating a portion of all cleaning service fees earned throughout the month to the Ms Molly Foundation, according to spokesperson Kathleen M. Severt .
âNewtown makes up 25 percent of the clients for the local franchise,â Ms Severt said, âwhich is why all donations, both monetary and personal care items, are given to a local shelter â so it stays in our community. Safe Haven, the local domestic violence shelter, will receive 100 percent of what we collect.â
As an additional incentive this year, anyone who contributes in the October 2010 Making a Difference Drive will receive a chance to win a gift certificate toward a future cleaning. Contributions such as personal care items, a financial donation, or just having their home cleaned during October all qualify the individual to be entered in the raffle. Just mention Ms Molly or Safe Haven when calling the local office at 203-262-6655 to schedule the cleaning.
