OBITS (Bittman; Buck; McCrea; Weber)
Sabrina Bittman
Sabrina May Bittman, infant daughter of Thomas and Lilian Davis Bittman, of 17
Rose Lane, Sandy Hook, died May 28 in Danbury Hospital.
Besides her parents, she is survived by a brother and sister, Daniel and Laura
Bittman, both of Sandy Hook; her paternal grandparents, John and Ann Bittman
of Waupaca, Ill.; and her maternal grandmother, Lillian Davis of Overland
Park, Kan.
Funeral services were held June 1 at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street,
Newtown, with the Rev Joel Eisness officiating. Interment will be in
Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.
Contributions in memory of Sabrina may be made to the CT Chapter of the March
of Dimes, 155 Founders Plaza East, Hartford, Conn. 06108.

Lilian Buck
Lilian Buck, 94, of Eastern Promenade, Me., died May 29 at a Portland
hospital.
She was the wife of the late Ervin A. Buck.
Born in Belmont, N.H., December 31, 1903, she was the daughter of Arthur P.
and Clara Edith (Davis) Draper. She attended grammar schools in Maine and
Massachusetts and graduated from Deering High School in 1920.
Mrs Buck worked as a beauty shop proprietor and as a secretary at Works
Projects Administration. As one of the first female journalists in the
country, she wrote for Sunup Magazine and the Portland Evening News. She
interviewed many famous authors, including Kenneth Roberts and Booth
Tarkington. Until the age of 73, she served as a legal secretary for Julius
Greenstein, a Portland attorney. She was also the soloist at the last service
of St. Lawrence Church of Munjoy Hill.
Mrs Buck was a member of the Portland League of Women Voters, the National
Wildlife Association, the Portland Grange and the Munjoy Hill Neighborhood
Association. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Purpooduck Country Club;
she loved dancing, classical music and reading. Mrs Buck was also a crossword
puzzle addict and Scrabble player.
Mrs Buck is survived by two sons, Peter Buck and his wife Carmen of Danbury,
and David Buck and his wife Barbara of Las Vegas; one brother, Dorwin P.
Draper of Georgetown, Me., four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is
predeceased by a brother Lincoln who died in 1927, and a sister Estella Draper
who died in 1982.
Funeral services were held June 3 at the Woodford Congregational Church,
Woodford Street, Portland. A graveside committal service was held Thursday at
Dow's Corner Cemetery, Standish.
Conroy-Tully Funeral Home, Portland, Me., was in charge of arrangements.

George T. McCrea
George T. McCrea, 84, father of Georgia Smith of Newtown, died May 30 in
Bridgeport Hospital.
He was the husband of Anna Micknick McCrea of Stratford.
Mr McCrea, a World War II veteran of the US Navy, was born in Scranton, Penn.,
and had been a Stratford resident for 37 years.
Besides his wife and daughter, he is survived by his son, Richard McCrea of
Stratford; two grandchildren, John Robert Smith and Allison Smith.
Funeral services were held June 2 in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise
Green Pl., Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace
Church, Stratford. Interment was in St John's Cemetery, Stratford.
Contributions may be made in memory of Mr McCrea to the American Heart
Association.

Marilyn M. Weber
Marilyn M. Weber, 66, mother of Kurt Weber of Sandy Hook, died June 1, at home
in Shelton.
Mrs Weber was the wife of Henry Weber of Shelton. She was born in Derby,
February 20, 1932, the daughter of Victoria Anton Markiewicz of Shelton and
the late Henry Markiewicz.
She retired from SNET Co, where she worked in the business office for 40 years
as staff assistant, instructor and office manager. She was a parishioner of St
Joseph's Church in Shelton and a graduate of Derby High School.
Mrs Weber is also survived by a daughter, Karen Devonshuk, of Beacon Falls;
three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 3 in St Joseph's Church in
Shelton. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

680 Bridgeport Avenue, Shelton or Shelton Lakes Nursing Home, 5 Lake Road,
Shelton, CT 06484.
Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby, was in charge of
arrangements.
