All About Eagles
Wednesday, March 4, Mr Drennan will be giving a presentation on the life history of bald eagles from 10 am until noon
The program will begin in the Audubon Center barn, where the group will study a mounted bald eagle and additional study mounts to get a better understanding of how beautifully adapted these creatures are to life in the wild, and how to determine their age based on their plumage.
After that, a carpool will travel to Shepaug Dam to view the bald eagles wintering on the Housatonic River. A large, enclosed bird blind will shield participants from the wind, and spotting scopes will be available for use, allowing attendees to see these majestic birds up-close. Volunteers will also be on hand to answer additional questions.
Cost is $10, $7 for members, and registration is limited. Contact Mr Drennan if interested.
