Celebration Of Jewish Culture,

Labor Day Weekend

MIDDLEBURY — The Ninth Annual New England Jewishfest – a celebration of the best of Jewish jazz, klezmer and Kabbalah music, Disney, reggae and more – will be hosted by Quassy Amusement Park during Labor Day weekend. The festival also includes exhibitions of art, Judaica and folklore, all offered by artisans from across New England.

Events will take place Sunday and Monday, September 3-4, from 11 am to 7:15 pm each day. The festival will be held rain or shine.

This year, admission to the festival will cover the cost of the 24 amusement rides at Quassy.

Tickets are $15 for a one-day pass purchased by August 30, or $20 at the gate; and $25 for a two-day pass in advance, or $30 at the gate for both days. Children ages 2 and under and senior citizens with an AARP card will be admitted free of charge.

Lessons in Jewish craft making for children and adults will be available all day. Visitors can learn to make a Hanukkah menorah, Havdallah candle, Shofar, yarmulka, to bake a Challah, or to design Jewish sand art.

Quassy Amusement Park is on Route 64; follow signs from I-84 Exit 16 or 17. For advance tickets and additional information visit JewishFest.org or call 800-297-6864.
