Mr and Mrs Scott Rockafellow

Melissa Ann Grossman and Scott Richard Rockafellow were married by Justice of the Peace David S. Grossman on September 16, 2006. The ceremony and a reception that followed were held at The Stony Hill Inn in Bethel. Melissa was given into marriage by her father, John Grossman of Newtown.

The bride is also the daughter of Gail Grossman of Bridgeport. She is a 1999 graduate of Newtown High School, and a 2004 graduate of Western Connecticut State University. She is employed as an office administrator and home care coordinator with The Center for Comprehensive Care in Shelton.

The groom is the son of Grace Ann Rockafellow of Newtown and the late Richard Rockafellow. He is also a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1993, and also a 1994 graduate of Connecticut School of Broadcasting. He is a sales manager at Blockbuster in Watertown.

For her wedding, Melissa wore a gown by Maggie Sottero of white satin, with crystal net sleeves, a natural waist, split-front A-line skirt, embroidery on the front of the dress, and a matching cathedral train. The gown also had a sweetheart neckline with embroidered bodice. Her bouquet was a hand-wrapped bouquet of white roses.

Melissa’s maids of honor were Jessica Troccolla of Sandy Hook and Abbey Assunto of Newtown. Bridesmaids were Lisa Grossman (sister of the bride) of Newtown, Trish Croswell-Gallucci of Watertown, and Melinsa Jaehn of Newtown. Junior bridesmaids were Elizabeth Katriel and Katherine Katriel of Oakland, N.J., and Joanna Wollman and Caroline Wollman of Newtown. Flower girls were Ciera Jaehn of Newtown and Emily Savo of Wodbury.

The attendants’ dresses were satin in a rose quartz shade with cognac piping. The gowns had an empire bodice, an A-line skirts, and contrasting cognac buttons down the back. Their flowers were also hand-wrapped bouquets, pink roses with Alstromeria.

The best man was Ian Pharo of Southbury. Ushers were Scott Durand of Seymour, Joe Coates of Sandy Hook, and Rob Eisenhower of Hobe Sound, Fla. Junior usher was Jonathan Okpych of Watertown. Ring bearer was Collin Durand of Seymour.

Following an eight-day cruise to San Juan, Grand Turk and St Thomas, the Rockafellows returned to their home in Waterbury.
